Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

Solomigo is a social platform for meeting people in real life, which means we handle sensitive information: where you are, what you look like and who you are talking to. This page explains exactly what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and how you get rid of it. Plain language, no filler.

1. Who we are

Solomigo (“Solomigo”, “we”, “us”) operates the Solomigo mobile application and this website. For the purposes of data protection law we are the data controller for the personal data described below. You can reach us at privacy@solomigo.com.

Information we collect automatically

  • Location. With your permission we use your device location to show plans near you, to sort them by distance and to record an approximate check-in when you attend a plan. You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings; discovery will then fall back to a city you choose manually.
  • Device and diagnostics. Device model, operating system version, app version, language, crash logs and performance traces.
  • Push token. A Firebase Cloud Messaging token so we can notify you about squad messages, join requests and plan updates.
  • Usage. Which screens you open, which plans you view or request, and moderation-relevant signals such as report frequency.
  • Purchases. If you buy a membership or a plan boost, we receive the transaction status and product identifier from Apple or Google. We never receive your card or bank details.

3. How we use your data

  • To operate the map, discovery, requests, chats and profiles.
  • To verify that accounts belong to real, adult humans.
  • To moderate content and accounts, apply trust limits, and investigate reports of harassment, fraud or unsafe behaviour.
  • To send you notifications about your plans and requests.
  • To improve the product, fix crashes and understand which features matter.
  • To process purchases and honour subscription entitlements.
  • To comply with law and to enforce our Terms of Use.

Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on: performance of our contract with you (running the service), your consent (location, camera, notifications), our legitimate interests (safety, moderation, product improvement) and legal obligation (responding to lawful requests).

4. Automated and AI processing

Two features use automated processing. First, an optional writing assistant can rewrite your “About me” text — the text you submit is sent to our AI provider to generate the suggestion. Second, profile text and images are automatically screened for policy violations before going live. Automated screening can flag content for human review; it does not by itself permanently ban an account, and you can appeal any moderation decision by contacting us.

5. What other members can see

  • Public on your profile: your first name, age, photos, bio, prompts, interests, languages, travel bucket list, approximate distance from the viewer, and your rating and plan count.
  • Not public: your verification selfie, exact address or GPS coordinates, date of birth, email address, phone number and payment status.
  • Reciprocal: if you add a selfie-booth photo, it is visible only to members who have also added one.
  • Optional blur: you can hide your photos so they are blurred until you connect with someone.

6. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data and we do not run third-party advertising networks inside the app. We share data with service providers who process it on our instructions:

ProviderPurpose
SupabaseDatabase, authentication, file storage and realtime messaging
Google (Firebase, Maps, Places)Push notifications, crash reporting, map rendering and location search
Apple & Google PlaySign-in and in-app purchase processing
OpenAIOptional profile-text assistance and content screening

We may also disclose data where we are legally required to, to protect someone from imminent harm, or in connection with a merger or acquisition (in which case we will tell you first).

7. International transfers

Our providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States and the European Union. Where required, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

8. How long we keep it

  • Account and profile data: while your account exists.
  • Verification selfies: retained while your account is active so we can re-check disputed accounts, then deleted with your account.
  • Messages: retained while the account exists so conversations remain readable for other participants.
  • Moderation records: retained for up to 24 months after account closure so that banned users cannot immediately return.
  • Purchase records: retained as long as tax and accounting law requires.

9. Deleting your account

You can delete your account from Profile → Settings → Delete account inside the app. We begin deletion immediately and complete it within 30 days, except for the limited moderation and financial records described above. If you cannot access the app, follow the steps on our account deletion page.

If you only want to step away, use Pause accountinstead — this hides you from the map, requests and chats without deleting anything.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict or delete your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Indian users have rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, including the right to nominate someone to exercise your rights. To exercise any right, email privacy@solomigo.com. We verify requests before acting on them and respond within the period the applicable law requires.

11. Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access to production systems is restricted to a small number of people, and moderation tooling is audit-logged. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us immediately if you suspect your account has been accessed by someone else.

12. Children

Solomigo is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. We check date of birth at signup, and we delete any account we find to belong to a minor. If you believe a minor is using Solomigo, report the profile in the app or email safety@solomigo.com.

13. Changes to this policy

If we make a material change we will update the date at the top of this page and notify you in the app before the change takes effect.
